Job summary

Nscale is seeking an Infrastructure Operations Deputy Manager based on-site in Glomfjord, Norway. You will serve as the right hand to the Infrastructure Operations Manager, owning the day-to-day site operations and coordinating the team to keep the data centre running smoothly.

This hands-on role covers documentation, SOPs, training, rota management, and handovers with the deployment team, while stepping in for the Manager during absences.

Qualifications

• Operational experience in a data centre environment with technical insight into site operations.
• Strong knowledge of HPC and GPU installations, including hardware configuration and network architecture.
• Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis with good elevation judgement.
• A collaborative operator who works well inside a team and can influence without formal authority.
• Comfortable relocating to, and living in, Glomfjord.
• Adaptable to a fast-moving scale-up where processes are still being built, rather than a large and highly structured organisation.
• Organised and diligent, with a bias towards documenting and standardising rather than firefighting.
• Willing to participate in an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Site Operations: Take day-to-day ownership of operations on site, ensuring the white space runs as it should.
• Team Coordination & Development: Organise the operations team day to day and provide training to junior members.
• Documentation & Standards: Own and maintain site documentation and SOPs and ensure procedures are followed.
• On-Call & Incident Response: Participate in an alternating weekly on-call rotation and coordinate responses.
