Job summary

Nscale is seeking a Deputy Manager, Infrastructure Operations to lead on-site data centre operations in Narvik. You will own day-to-day site activities, coordinate engineers, operators, and vendors, and ensure documentation and SOPs stay current.

The role is hands-on, with weekly on-call rotation and reporting to the Infrastructure Operations Manager. Strong HPC/GPU knowledge and team leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Proven operational experience in a data centre environment.
• Strong working knowledge of HPC and GPU installations, including hardware configuration and network architecture.
• Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills with good judgment to elevate when needed.
• Collaborative operator who works well in a team and can influence without formal authority.

Responsibilities

• Take day-to-day ownership of on-site operations, ensuring the white space runs smoothly.
• Act as operational decision-maker during day shift and escalate to the Infrastructure Operations Manager as needed.
• Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of HPC and GPU systems with the engineering team.
• Identify operational risks and propose improvements to increase site efficiency.
