Job summary

Lloyd’s Register in Bergen, Norway is seeking a Naval Technical Lead to liaise between LR, Norwegian and UK governments and navies, preparing for Type 26 frigates. The role includes mobilisation and sustainment activities, development of safety cases, and close collaboration with Norwegian authorities.

Based in Bergen, you will travel between Norway and the UK to support classification processes, ensure certification, and mentor engineers while delivering sound technical solutions in a complex

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or physical science, or marine/nautical qualification.
• Proven understanding of project management processes and certification regimes.
• Proficiency in Norwegian and English (written and spoken) at work level.

Responsibilities

• Assist in understanding LR naval class design intent and purpose.
• Support T26 design compliance with Norwegian naval authority requirements.
• Explain LR classification processes to NMDA and RNoN.
• Liaise with NCoE for New Construction, In-Service and T26 Project Manager.
• Regular travel between Norway and the UK.
• Contribute to developing the in-service survey plan and class activities.
• Develop the frigates safety case and ensure readiness.
