Job summary

Lloyd’s Register is seeking a Naval Technical Lead based in Bergen, Norway. The role will liaise between LR, Norwegian and UK governments, navies, and agencies to prepare for Type 26 frigates and bring them into service. Mobilisation and sustainment phases involve compliance planning and through-life support.

Regular travel between Norway and the UK is required. The candidate will develop safety cases and advise on design intent, classification processes, and certification requirements with a

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in engineering or physical science; or marine/naval qualifications with sea-going experience.
• Experience with project management processes through work or training.
• Proficiency in Norwegian and English (written and spoken).
• Knowledge of naval class, surveys and international codes relevant to Type 26 frigates.

Responsibilities

• Assist NDMA and RNoN in understanding LR naval design intent and certification.
• Support T26 design compliance with Norwegian authority requirements.
• Explain LR classification processes to NMDA and RNoN.
• Liaise with NCoE, Project Manager and COMS to develop in-service survey plans.
• Regular travel between Norway and the UK.
• Support operations by developing the frigates safety case.
• Provide specialist advice considering budget and contractual constraints.
