Job summary

Proactive Global in Oslo, Norway, seeks a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a highly automated industrial and logistics site. You will be hands-on, ensuring critical equipment runs safely, efficiently and reliably in a modern automated environment.

Based at the Oslo site, you will perform planned and reactive maintenance on conveyors, cranes, lifters and material-handling systems, while working with a small engineering team on preventative maintenance and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical, mechanical, automation or multi-skilled industrial maintenance.
• Experience with automated machinery or material-handling systems.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a small engineering team.
• Safety-focused and proactive maintenance approach.
• English at B2 level or above.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts.
• Norwegian knowledge is a plus but not essential.

Job description

We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a highly automated industrial and logistics site in Oslo, Norway.

This is a hands-on maintenance role within a modern automated environment, where you will be responsible for keeping critical equipment and systems running safely, efficiently and reliably.

The Role

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will work as part of a small, collaborative engineering team responsible for the maintenance and reliability of automated warehouse and material-handling equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on automated industrial equipment
• Diagnosing and resolving electrical, mechanical and automation-related faults
• Maintaining equipment such as conveyors, automated cranes, lifters, monorail systems and pallet handling equipment
• Supporting preventative maintenance activities and continuous improvement initiatives
• Responding to breakdowns and minimising equipment downtime
• Working safely and following site maintenance and operational procedures
• Collaborating closely with colleagues across engineering and operations

You will be based at highly automated operational site in Oslo.

The working environment is team-oriented, with a strong focus on collaboration, safety and operational reliability.

Please note that parts of the facility are maintained at approximately 4°C, so you should be comfortable working in a cold industrial environment.

Working Hours

The position operates on a rotating 8-hour shift pattern:

• 06:00–14:00
• 14:00–22:00
• 22:00–06:00

The standard working pattern is Monday to Friday, with no scheduled weekend rotation. Additional weekend overtime may occasionally be available.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an engineer with a strong practical approach to maintenance and fault finding.

Ideally, you will have:

• Experience in electrical, mechanical, automation or multi-skilled industrial maintenance
• Experience working with automated machinery or material-handling systems
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a small engineering team
• A safety-focused and proactive approach to maintenance
• English at B2 level or above
• A willingness to work rotating shifts
• knowledge of Norwegian is a plus, but not essential.
