Job summary

JD Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced M&E Supervisor to join our site management team on a major data centre development in Norway.

You will oversee electrical, mechanical and HVAC installation, enforce safety and quality standards, and coordinate sub-contractors, with focus on power, cooling and critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supervising M&E installation works on large-scale projects.
• Technical background in electrical or mechanical trades with recognized qualifications.
• Strong safety culture and familiarity with RAMS, TBTs and LOTO.
• Fluent in English; Norwegian knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day M&E installation on site, ensuring compliance with drawings and standards.
• Coordinate subcontractors and trades to meet lookahead targets and schedules.
• Enforce RAMS, Toolbox Talks and pre-task briefings for safety on site.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) Supervisors to join our site management team for a major data centre development in Norway. In this role, you will oversee day-to-day electrical, mechanical, and HVAC installation activities, ensuring all work meets rigorous technical standards, safety protocols, schedule targets, and Norwegian building codes.

You will act as the key link between sub-contractors, package managers, quality teams, and site leadership to drive quality delivery across critical power, cooling, and safety infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Supervision & Work Coordination

• Manage day-to-day site installation of mechanical (HVAC, chillers, CRAHs, piping, fire suppression) and electrical infrastructure (MV/LV power distribution, UPS systems, generators, cable containment, busbars).
• Coordinate subcontractors, trade crews, and vendor specialists to ensure daily and weekly targets are achieved.
• Review short-term construction schedules (3-week lookahead) and ensure resources, access, and materials are aligned.

Health, Safety, & Environment (HSE)

• Enforce strict site safety policies, conducting daily RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements) reviews, Tool Box Talks (TBTs), and pre-task briefings.
• Champion high standards of workplace safety, ensuring compliance with Norwegian working environment legislation
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and ensure safe isolation (LOTO) protocols are strictly followed.

Quality Assurance & Control (QA/QC)

• Inspect physical installations daily to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and local standards.
• Manage Quality Hold Points, Snagging, and De-snagging registers across M&E packages.
• Oversee pre-commissioning checks and support the Commissioning Team through Levels 1–5 (Factory Acceptance through Integrated System Testing).

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Identify site access conflicts, design clashes, or material shortages early and proactively resolve them with engineering and planning teams.
• Provide accurate daily site reports, recording manpower, progress against plan, site conditions, and delays.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, and architectural teams to align builders’ work and penetration details.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience supervising M&E installation works, with proven experience on large-scale mission-critical projects (Data Centres, High-Tech Industrial or Pharmaceutical)
• Technical Background: Electrical or Mechanical trade qualification, NVQ Level 3/4, HNC/HND, or equivalent in Engineering.
• Recognised Site Safety Certification (e.g., SSSTS/SMSTS, IOSH, or local equivalent).
• High Voltage (HV) or Low Voltage (LV) AP/CP qualifications are an advantage.
• Languages: Fluent in English (required); working knowledge of Norwegian or a Scandinavian language is highly advantageous.
• Right to work: EU / UK Passport required
