Job summary

Vallum Associates is seeking an experienced Electrical QA/QC Manager to lead quality assurance and control on a major hyperscale data centre development in Norway. The role focuses on ensuring electrical systems are installed, inspected, tested and prepared for energisation in line with project specs and client requirements.

You will develop and manage QA/QC strategy, oversee HV, MV and LV distribution, coordinate with contractors and commissioning teams, and drive non-conformances to closure

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience as Electrical QA/QC Manager on major construction projects.
• Experience with Data Centre infrastructure and HV/MV/LV distribution.
• Familiarity with ITPs, NCRs and handover documentation.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the Electrical QA/QC strategy and ITPs.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical QA/QC Manager to lead electrical quality assurance and quality control activities on a major hyperscale Data Centre development.

The successful candidate will ensure electrical systems are installed, inspected, tested and prepared for energisation and commissioning in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, client requirements and applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage the Electrical QA/QC strategy, procedures, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and quality documentation.
• Oversee quality across electrical systems including HV, MV and LV distribution, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, busbar, cabling, containment, earthing and associated control systems.
• Review electrical method statements, material submittals, technical documentation, test plans and inspection records.
• Conduct site inspections to verify electrical installations against approved drawings, specifications and project quality requirements.
• Coordinate closely with electrical subcontractors, construction teams, consultants, design engineers and commissioning teams.
• Manage non-conformances (NCRs), defects, corrective actions and quality close-out activities.
• Monitor electrical testing requirements including continuity, insulation resistance, earthing, cable testing and equipment verification.
• Ensure electrical systems meet required construction completion and quality standards before energisation and commissioning.
• Support energisation, testing and commissioning, system turnover and integrated systems testing activities where required.
• Manage electrical quality records, punch lists, as-built documentation, O&M information and turnover packages.
• Provide regular quality reporting to senior project leadership and client stakeholders.
• Drive a strong quality and safety-focused culture across electrical project delivery.

Experience & Qualifications

• Degree or relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous experience as an Electrical QA/QC Manager, Electrical Quality Manager or similar role on major construction projects.
• Previous Data Centre, mission-critical or complex electrical infrastructure experience is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of HV, MV and LV electrical distribution systems and associated Data Centre infrastructure.
• Experience with ITPs, inspections, electrical testing, NCR management, energisation readiness and handover documentation.
• Knowledge of relevant electrical standards, specifications and quality management systems.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors, consultants, commissioning teams and client representatives.
• Strong communication, leadership and technical problem-solving skills.
