Job summary

Dorminy Medical Center seeks an experienced RN House Supervisor to oversee patient care during the assigned shift. This full-time position requires leadership to coordinate total patient care services, ensure quality outcomes, and maintain compliance with clinical standards.

The supervisor reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and acts in absence of the Administrator on-call. Applicants should have a nursing degree, current state licensure, and ACLS/BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Must have nursing degree and active state licensure.
• BSN preferred but not required.
• BCLS & ACLS certification required or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain quality patient care by managing total patient care services during the assigned shift.
• In the absence of the Administrator or designee, make administrative decisions and notify the Administrator-on-Call.
• Report to Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).

The Nursing House Supervisor is responsible for promoting and maintaining quality patient care through effective management of the activities of the total patient care services during his/her assigned shift. In the absence of the Administrator and/or designee, the Nursing House Supervisor has the authority and responsibility for administrative decisions and appropriate notification of the Administrator-on-Call. Reports to CNO.

Job Requirements

Education

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and holds current licensure by State Board of Nursing
• BSN desired
• BCLS & ACLS Certification
  
  

Experience

• Previous management, charge or staff nurse experience (1 year preferred)
  
  

Language Skills

• Possesses good oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates interpersonal relationships in a manner, which enhances communication, promotes conflict resolution and facilitates staff development.
• Additional languages preferred.

• Basic computer knowledge.
• Skills and knowledge to sustain and evaluate competence in the care of the age and type of patient populations served.
