Job summary

Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, GA is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the night shift (7pm-7am) in the ER. The role provides and supervises direct and indirect nursing care across pediatric to geriatric patients and supports department operations.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited LPN program, current license by the State Board of Nursing, current CPR, and ER experience. PALS and ACLS are desirable, with a minimum 1 year ER nursing experience.

Position Description

Provides and supervises direct and indirect nursing care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients under the general supervision of a registered nurse. Maintains overall departmental operations in accordance with the facilities mission and philosophy. Participates and maintains performance improvement activities to assure highest standards of care.

Physical / Mental Demands

• Ability to think and work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions; to move, sit, stand, walk and bend intermittently throughout the workday, lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
• Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these sources to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
• Use of mechanical and technical equipment required for the responsibilities assigned.
• External and internal applicants who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential job functions either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined on a case-by-case basis.
• Position has a moderate expected exposure to blood borne pathogens.
