Job summary

IKM Consultants AS in Stavanger is seeking an experienced Discipline Engineer to oversee offshore oil and gas discipline activities, ensuring alignment with the project plan and reporting progress. You will produce and interpret technical documentation, perform IS loop calculations, manage change control, and collaborate with clients and vendors to determine optimal technical solutions.

The role requires Norwegian and English, 10+ years in O&G, and relevant certificates; assignment runs Sep 2026

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • 10–15 years of relevant experience may compensate for a lack of formal education.
  • Over 10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas engineering sector.
  • Thorough knowledge of NORSOK, PTIL, and API standards.
  • Experience with modification projects on offshore installations while in operation.
  • Strong self-learning ability and communication skills.
  • Valid Basic Ex (Grunnleggende EX) certificate.
  • Valid FSE high and low voltage with first aid certificate.
  • Language: Norwegian and English

Responsibilities

  • Oversee discipline engineering activities and report progress against the project plan.
  • Identify, log, and manage potential changes according to the project's change control system.
  • Produce and interpret technical documentation including Cause & Effect diagrams, System Control Diagrams (SCDs), and loop drawings for process, Fire & Gas, and safety systems.
  • Perform IS Loop Calculations and revise existing documentation and drawings.
  • Conduct discipline checks and approve documents and drawings produced within the project.
  • Order all necessary instrument materials required for offshore installation.
  • Understand P&IDs and drawings from various engineering disciplines.
  • Collaborate with client and vendor representatives to determine optimal technical solutions.

  • -Thorough knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, such as NORSOK, PTIL, and API.
  • -Experience with modification projects on offshore installations while in operation.
  • -A high degree of self-learning ability and strong communication skills.
  • -Valid Basic Ex (Grunnleggende EX) certificate.
  • -Valid FSE high and low voltage with first aid (FSE høy og lavtspent med førstehjelp) certificate.

  • Work schedule: Full-time
  • Duration: The assignment is planned from September 2026 to December 2027.
