Job summary

IKM Consultants AS in Stavanger, Norway, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for a temporary assignment from September 2026 to December 2027. The role focuses on designing electrical installations and heat tracing, acting as Package Responsible Engineer, and coordinating with vendors and multiple disciplines on offshore modification projects.

The candidate will verify MTOs, prepare requisitions, and produce work packages while ensuring compliance with NORSOK, IEC, and ATEX standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering field.
• Minimum 5 years of electrical engineering experience on modification projects offshore.
• Proficient in electrical design standards (NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, IEC).
• Experience with IEC 61850 protocols (GOOSE, MMS, PTP, SV) is preferred.
• Valid offshore certificate incl. HUET, health cert, basic EX and FSE course.

Job description

Required expertise

• -Perform and verify the design of electrical installations.
• -Act as the Package Responsible Engineer.
• -Define and design heat trace requirements in accordance with P&IDs.
• -Prepare, check, and approve Material Take-Off (MTO) and technical requisitions.
• -Follow up with vendors and insert data into the engineering registry.
• -Produce engineering work packages.
• -Interface with other disciplines and conduct site surveys.
• -Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• -Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering for modification projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
• -Proficiency with electrical design standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, and IEC.
• -Experience with Cyber Security in industrial automation and control systems (IEC 62443).
• -Familiarity with IEC 61850 protocols (GOOSE, MMS, PTP, SV) is preferred.
• -Strong communication skills and a cooperative, solution-oriented attitude.
• -Valid offshore certificate (including HUET), health certificate, basic EX course, and FSE course.
• -Selected candidate must successfully complete a third-party background check prior to start date.
