Job summary

MDE Stavanger seeks a Senior Discipline Responsible Engineer (Senior DRE) to lead discipline engineering activities for offshore installation projects.

You will ensure work is performed to plan and changes are logged, while coordinating with clients and vendors to achieve optimal technical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree; 10–15 years if education is lacking.
• 10+ years engineering experience in Oil & Gas.
• Knowledge of regulations such as NORSOK, PTIL and API.
• High self-learning capability.
• Good communication.
• Excellent Norwegian and English writing and speaking skills.
• Knowledge of offshore installations modifications.
• Work location: Forus.
• Security disclosures during hire-in process.
• Duration: 21.09.2026–31.12.2027.

Responsibilities

• Senior DRE ensures discipline work is carried out per plan and changes are logged.
• Produce/review documentation and drawings: Cause & Effect, SCD, loop drawings for process, Fire & Gas and safety systems; IS Loop Calculations.
• Revise existing documentation/drawings.
• Discipline check and approval of documents/drawings.
• Order instrument materials for offshore installation.
• Understand P&IDs and drawings from different disciplines.
• Discuss with client and vendor representatives to find optimal technical solutions.

• More than 10 years of engineering experience in the Oil & Gas industry

• Excellent Norwegian and English writing and speaking skills
• Basic EX course and FSE high and low voltage with first aid

Job Description

• Senior Discipline Responsible Engineer (Senior DRE) is responsible for discipline engineering activities. The Senior DRE shall ensure that the work within the discipline is carried out according to plan and that progress is reported. The Senior DRE shall ensure that potential changes/deviations are identified and logged in accordance with project change control system.
• Produce/understand new documentation and drawings such as Cause & Effect, System Control Diagrams (SCD), loop drawings for process, Fire & Gas and safety systems; IS Loop Calculations.
• Revise existing documentation and drawings.
• Discipline check and approval of produced documents and drawings in the project.
• Order all instrument materials needed for offshore installation.
• Must be able to understand P&IDs and drawings from different disciplines.
• Discussions with client and vendor representatives in order to find optimal technical solutions.

Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor or Master degree. Lack of education requires 10-15 years of relevant work experience.
• More than 10 years experience in engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Must have knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, such as NORSOK, PTIL and API standards.
• High degree of self-learning skills.
• Good communication.
• Excellent Norwegian and English writing & speaking skills.
• Knowledge of modifications on offshore installations when in operation.
• Work location: Forus.
