Job summary

Nscale is hiring an Infrastructure Operations Engineer to ensure the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of our data centre infrastructure from Stavanger base. You’ll work within Infrastructure Operations, coordinating with cross-functional teams on projects, capacity planning, and customer support.

You will help maintain service availability, respond to incidents, and drive long-term operational improvements that matter to customers and the business.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in data centre environments.
• Expertise in server administration, virtualization, and networking protocols.
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, or Python.
• Hands-on server experience in a tech organisation.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Advanced technical certifications.
• Ability to make decisions in ambiguous, results-driven environments.
• Confidence influencing without authority and building relationships with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage infrastructure projects, including installations and upgrades.
• Support deployments and operations across additional data centres as required.
• Adapt to customer-driven operational demands, including specialist support outside core business hours.
• Travel to other Nscale data centres to assist colleagues and support business needs.
• Monitor critical systems including power, cooling, and network connectivity.
• Maintain data centre infrastructure to support efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
• Respond to critical incidents during out-of-business hours when required.
• Work shifts and participate in on-call cover as part of operational support.
• Handle escalated customer support issues and investigate major incidents.
• Design automation scripts and tools to optimise operational processes.
• Collaborate on capacity planning initiatives and drive scalable improvements.
