Job summary

DataAnnotation is seeking a fluent Icelandic speaker to help train AI models. You will write prompts in Icelandic on a wide range of topics, review AI responses for grammar and natural phrasing, and ensure answers reflect local culture and context.

This independent contractor role offers flexible scheduling, remote work from home, and hourly pay between $25 and $40 USD, with bonus rates on some projects. Applicants based in Iceland are preferred, and fluent Icelandic speakers living elsewhere

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in Icelandic.
• Fluency in English (native or bilingual level).
• Detail-oriented and strong writing skills in both languages.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

About The Job

We are looking for a fluent Icelandic speaker to help train AI models. You will test how well these models understand and write in Icelandic, check their reasoning, and help raise the quality of each new version.

We're currently expanding into an exciting new area: teaching AI to communicate naturally in Icelandic, with the grammar, tone, and cultural knowledge of a native speaker.

In This Role, You May

• Write prompts in Icelandic on a wide range of everyday and specialized topics
• Review AI responses for grammar, fluency, and natural phrasing
• Check whether answers reflect local culture, customs, and current context accurately
• Compare model responses side by side and choose the stronger one
• Translate between Icelandic and English while preserving meaning and tone
