Job summary

Helly Hansen in Oslo is seeking an Accounting Analyst to manage Accounts Receivable, Retail accounting and GL ledger activities for the Nordic market. You will collaborate with Sales, E-commerce, Retail and Operations to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.

The role reports to the European Credit Manager in Oslo. You will work with ERP systems such as Infor M3 and SAP, support audits, and drive process improvements in a dynamic, international environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on accounting experience in multi-system environments.
• Experience with US SOX controls is preferred.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
• Experience in international settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end Accounts Receivable processes including invoicing and cash application.
• Reconcile AR ledgers and monitor credit control activities across channels.
• Handle Retail accounting, POS reconciliations, and bank deposits.
• Post journal entries and support month-end closings and balance sheet reconciliations.

The Accounting Analyst

will play an important role in our Finance department in Oslo managing Account Receivables, Retail accounting and GL Ledger activities. We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Analyst for the Nordic market who will collaborate with cross functional teams like Sales, E-commerce, Retail and Operations ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient financial operations that support the continued success of our business. The role will report to European Credit Manager located in Oslo.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable

• Manage end-to-end Accounts Receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, and cash application
• Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and minimize outstanding balances
• Reconcile Accounts Receivable ledgers and resolve discrepancies
• Investigate and resolve payment issues and customer disputes
• Prepare aging reports and support credit control activities
• Manage Accounts Receivable activities related to e-commerce channels

Retail Accounting

• Reconcile Point of Sale (POS) systems with financial records
• Manage cash application and bank deposit reconciliations
• Monitor inventory-related accounting entries and investigate variances

General Ledger Accounting

• Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with accounting standards and company policies
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintain accurate and complete financial records
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities

Additional Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and relevant regulations
• Collaborate closely with Sales, E-commerce, Retail, Operations and Finance teams
• Support internal and external audit processes
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency
• Assist with financial analysis, reporting, hoc projects and audit

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Experience and “hands-on” knowledge from various ERP and accounting systems (e.g Infor M3 ERP and SAP, BlackLine, Front POS)
• Good Excel knowledge
• Solid accounting and credit knowledge with minimum 3+ years relevant hands-on experience preferably in an international setting
• Experience with US Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
• Ability to see opportunities for streamlining and automating tasks
