Job summary

EuroTech in Alta, Norway, seeks an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee financial operations, manage journal entries, and ensure accurate reporting. The role requires CPA certification, 5 years of experience, and proficiency in QuickBooks or SAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's preferred).
• CPA or equivalent certification required.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in accounting or related field.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks or SAP.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and regulatory understanding.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Norwegian nationality or fluent knowledge of Norwegian language preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including journal entries, reconciliations and audits.
• Monitor cash flow and prepare cash forecasts to ensure adequate funding for company operations.
• Collaborate with other departments to develop budgets, analyze variances and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures.
• Conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement in financial processes and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and assist with tax planning strategies.
• Train and mentor junior accounting staff to ensure accurate record keeping and efficient processes.
