Job summary

Helly Hansen Workwear is expanding its Product Development Team in Oslo and seeks an experienced Pattern Maker to transform concepts into durable, well-fitting garments.

The role reports to the Senior Pattern Maker Workwear and Design and Development Director Workwear and collaborates with Design, Product Development, Certification, and supplier partners to meet Helly Hansen standards of fit, comfort, and quality.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Pattern Design or equivalent education and experience.
  • Documented skills in Gerber Accumark or similar CAD system.
  • Knowledge of 3D software.
  • Proven experience in a pattern making role in the apparel industry (sport/outdoor/workwear preferred).
  • Experience in PLM systems and Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, establish and communicate specifications for fit, sizing and construction details for allocated styles.
  • Create full patterns, block patterns and measurement lists based on needs.
  • Plan, coordinate and take active part in fit sessions for allocated styles with developers and designers.
  • Contribute to product and material optimization while reviewing costs to land on target prices.
  • Ensure fit and size consistency across categories and establish grading increments.
  • Travel for execution of allocated products as needed.

As Helly Hansen Workwear continues to grow, we are expanding our Product Development Team and are looking for an experienced and passionate Pattern Maker to join us for this full-time, permanent position at our headquarters in Oslo.

At Helly Hansen Workwear, we develop professional-grade garments trusted by workers around the world. As a Pattern Maker, you will play a critical role in transforming product concepts into functional, durable, and well-fitting garments. You and the Pattern Team will collaborate closely with Design, Product Development, Certification Team and our supplier partners to ensure that our products meet the Helly Hansen standards of fit, comfort, performance, and quality.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical garment construction knowledge with a solution-oriented mindset and a passion for creating workwear that performs in demanding working environments.

You will report to Senior Pattern Maker Workwear and Design and Development Director Workwear.

Main responsibilities within the role as a pattern maker
  • To oversee, establish and communicate all specifications for fit, sizing and construction details for allocated styles.
  • To create full patterns, block patterns and measurement lists based on needs.
  • To plan, coordinate and take active part in fit sessions for allocated styles together with developers and designers.
  • To contribute to optimize products and material consumption and critically review to land on or below price targets.
  • To know the consumer target groups and focus on fit silhouettes to achieve and maintain fit and size consistency throughout the categories.
  • To establish and update grading increments and measurement points, and control graded patterns for all product types.
  • Actively prepare, plan for and travel when necessary for the execution for allocated products.
What we’re looking for
  • A degree in Pattern Design or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Documented skills in Gerber Accumark or similar CAD system to efficiently create and modify patterns.
  • Knowledge of 3D software.
  • Proven experience in a pattern making role in the apparel industry. Preferably sport/outdoor/workwear industry.
  • Experience in PLM systems and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Good organizational, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, curious and proactive mindset.
