Job summary

Balder Technology AS in Oslo seeks a Firmware Engineer who loves hardware and building the brains for our global sensor network. You will design, develop, and maintain firmware for our ultra-low-power IoT devices powering container tracking worldwide.

You’ll own features end-to-end, optimize for battery life, implement reliable communication protocols, and collaborate with hardware and cloud teams to deliver robust software.

Qualifications

• Experience in embedded firmware development with C/C++.
• Strong understanding of I2C, SPI, and UART interfaces.
• Proficient debugging hardware and firmware issues with test tools.
• Ability to read schematics and reason about electronics.
• Eligible to work in Norway with proper authorization.

Responsibilities

• Write firmware for low-power, long-life IoT devices powering a global sensor network.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on bring-up, validation, and debugging.
• Develop test suites and automation for firmware validation.
• Tackle complex issues spanning hardware, firmware, and cloud interfaces.
