We’re looking for a skilled Firmware Engineer to join our growing team in Larvik, Norway. You’ll be part of a cross‑functional team of six, including Product Managers, Hardware Engineers, and Software Engineers. While it’s a distributed team, most members are based in Norway, with additional colleagues in Sweden.
Together, we work closely to develop and deliver cutting‑edge telematics solutions. If you’re passionate about embedded systems and enjoy working in a collaborative, agile environment, we’d love to hear from you.
Firmware Delivery
- Develop and maintain embedded firmware in C for telematics hardware platforms.
- Optimize code for performance, memory usage, and power efficiency.
Platform & Interfaces
- Work with traditional hardware interfaces such as I2C, UART, and SPI.
- Integrate with on‑chip and external interfaces including CAN, OBD‑II, GNSS, cellular modems, and BLE.
Security & Updates
- Implement and maintain secure bootloaders and OTA (over‑the‑air) update mechanisms.
- Develop robust firmware upgrade solutions.
Debugging & Validation
- Debug and troubleshoot embedded systems using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and software debuggers.
- Collaborate closely with hardware engineers on board bring‑up and validation.
We believe you bring
- Proficiency in C programming for embedded systems.
- Experience with RTOS‑based and bare‑metal firmware development.
- Strong knowledge of microcontroller architectures, preferably ARM Cortex‑M.
- Solid understanding of hardware interfaces: UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, ADC/DAC, GPIO.
- Knowledge of low‑power design and energy‑efficient firmware techniques.
- Proficient in using embedded debugging tools and test equipment.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines for firmware development.
- Awareness of embedded security best practices (e.g., secure boot, encryption).
- Experience with AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., code generation, debugging, and optimization), and the ability to use them effectively in firmware development workflows.
Nice‑To‑Have
- Familiarity with Zephyr and cross‑compilation toolchains.
- Understanding of GNSS and cellular communication protocols.
- A degree in Computer Science, Hardware Engineering, or a related field.
