Job summary

MDE Stavanger is seeking an Emergency Response & Security Operations Specialist to serve as the 24/7 primary contact for emergency situations and to monitor threats across global operations. You will provide remote support for traveling staff, follow Journey Management and Travel Communications Plans, and mobilize client emergency response teams as incidents unfold.

The role requires agility in handling serious incidents, data gathering from open sources, and producing timely, actionable reports

Qualifications

• Degree-level education preferred in emergency response, crisis management or security.
• Experience in operations, security, emergency response and/or military (OSINT).
• Good understanding of security and emergency preparedness.
• Excellent IT and digital skills; CIM knowledge preferred.
• Fluency in Norwegian and English is essential.

Responsibilities

• Be main contact for emergency notifications for the client.
• Act on reports of serious incidents and mobilize emergency response as needed.
• Provide remote support to traveling employees and follow JMP/Travel Plans.
• Monitor real-time threats from open sources and trigger actions.
• Notify and mobilize client emergency organization as required.
• Collect and analyze data from open sources to mitigate threats.
• Translate data into written, actionable reports and keep stakeholders informed.
• Maintain situational awareness of global threat landscape and inform timely updates.
• Support POB counts during incidents and travel in high-threat areas.
• Collaborate with client emergency teams via crisis management tools.
• Notify and coordinate mass employee communications during incidents.
• Engage with PISAS when required.

Job Description

• Main point of contact for the client for notification of emergency situations.
• Acting on all reports of serious incidents and situations requiring emergency response support, ensuring further notification in accordance with established plans.
• Providing remote support to employees during business travel, following up Journey Management Plans (JMP) and Travel Communication Plans.
• Conducting real-time threat monitoring from open sources and initiating actions as needed.
• Receive and act on reports of serious incidents, including further notification and mobilization of the client's emergency response organization.
• Collect, analyze, and disseminate data from open-source information systems to support stakeholders in understanding and mitigating threats and risks.
• Transform collected data into written and actionable reports.
• Maintain situational awareness of the global threat landscape and proactively inform stakeholders in a timely manner about identified threats.
• Stay updated and seek information on the evolving threat picture.
• Support POB count during incidents and business travel in high-threat countries.
• Collaborate with the client's emergency organization by monitoring, responding and executing tasks in the client's corporate crisis management tool.
• Conduct notification and mass communication to employees in case of serious incidents.
• Notify and collaborate with Petroleum Industry Security Alert System (PISAS) when required.
• The position implies 24/7 shift work, including weekend, evening and night shifts.

Qualification Requirements

• Degree-level education preferred, preferably in emergency response, crisis management or a security-related discipline.
• Experience from relevant positions within operations, security, emergency response and/or military (OSINT).
• Have a good understanding of security and emergency preparedness.
• Excellent IT and digital skills.
• Prior knowledge of CIM (Crisis Management tool) is considered an advantage.
• Fluency in Norwegian and English, written and oral, is essential.
• Knowledge of the client's national and international role and presence is considered an advantage.
• Team player, however able to operate individually.
• Problem-solving skills and creativity.
• Ability to handle stress in demanding emergency situations.
• Proactive and pragmatic, with strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• 24/7 duty roster, including evening, night and weekend shifts.
• Able to work alone during night shifts and weekend shifts. Duration:30.09.2026-30.04.2027
