Job summary

Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to strengthen our R&D team and develop firmware for advanced digital cutting systems. You will join our software group to create embedded solutions and collaborate with hardware engineers in a hands-on environment.

The role focuses on full lifecycle firmware, real-time control, and robust software for precision machinery, with opportunities to influence architecture, tooling, and integration.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
• Solid experience with bare-metal embedded development on microcontrollers.
• Strong C/C++ skills for embedded systems.
• Experience with real-time and event-driven systems, including RTOS concepts.
• Ability to read schematics and datasheets.
• English required, preferably Norwegian.
• Experience with embedded Linux, CAN, EtherCAT, SPI, etc., and knowledge of Git, CI/CD, build tools, or Python.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in engineering, computer science, or related field
• Solid experience with bare-metal embedded development on microcontrollers and a strong understanding of microcontroller architecture, peripherals, and hardware/software interaction.
• Strong C/C++ skills for embedded systems
• Experience with real-time and event-driven systems, including RTOS concepts.
