Job summary

Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to strengthen our R&D team and develop firmware for advanced digital cutting systems. You will join our software group to create embedded solutions and collaborate with hardware engineers in a hands-on environment.

The role focuses on full lifecycle firmware, real-time control, and robust software for precision machinery, with opportunities to influence architecture, tooling, and integration.

Qualifications

Degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
Solid experience with bare-metal embedded development on microcontrollers.
Strong C/C++ skills for embedded systems.
Experience with real-time and event-driven systems, including RTOS concepts.
Ability to read schematics and datasheets.
English required, preferably Norwegian.
Experience with embedded Linux, CAN, EtherCAT, SPI, etc., and knowledge of Git, CI/CD, build tools, or Python.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and improve embedded firmware across the full lifecycle.
Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to build robust solutions.
Contribute to design, code reviews, and system architecture.
Work closely with both hardware and software development.
