Job summary

Kongsberg Automotive, Hvittingfoss plant, seeks a Machining Expert to develop and improve manufacturing processes for optimal efficiency, minimal lead times, and zero defects. You will work within the Process Engineering team to design and implement manufacturing processes for new products and support ongoing production with technical solutions.

The role requires a BSc in mechanical engineering or similar, 3 years in mass production manufacturing, CNC controller knowledge, and cutting tool

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering or similar
• 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within mass production
• Knowledge of CNC controllers
• Cutting tool knowledge for steel machining
• Driver's license class B (no public transport to the plant)

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and implement manufacturing processes for new products.
• Optimize existing manufacturing processes and implement improvements in production.
• Support running production in problem solving and technical solutions.
• Perform investment analysis of new machines and equipment and product cost calculations.
• Create/update instructions and routines for manufacturing processes.
• Start-up new production lines/cells and support daily production.
• Prepare technical documentation, drawings and specifications for machinery, equipment and tooling procurement.
• Support production of initial samples and prototypes.
• Continues improvements of machining processes.

• Support the production of initial samples and prototypes
• Continues improvements of machining processes

Competence Requirements (ideally)

• Bachelor of Science; mechanical engineering or similar education
• 3 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering within similar industry with mass production
• Knowledge of CNC controller
• Cutting tool knowledge for steel machining
• Driver’s license class B (no public transportation to the plant)
