Job summary

Kongsberg Automotive, Hvittingfoss site, is seeking a Machining Expert to develop and improve manufacturing processes for future vehicle components. You will work within the Process Engineering team to drive efficiency, reduce lead times and defects.

Ideal candidates have a mechanical engineering background with CNC knowledge and hands-on experience in mass production. The role emphasizes teamwork, problem solving and continuous improvement in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering or similar.
• 3 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering within mass production.
• Knowledge of CNC controller.
• Cutting tool knowledge for steel machining.
• Driver’s license class B (no public transportation to the plant).

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and implement manufacturing processes for new products.
• Optimize existing manufacturing processes and implement improvements in production.
• Support running production in problem solving and implementing technical solutions.
• Perform investment analysis of new machines and equipment as well as product cost calculations
• Create/update instructions and routines for manufacturing processes
• Start-up new production lines/cells and support daily production
• Prepare technical documentation, drawings, and specifications for the purchasing of machinery, equipment and tooling and support the approval of such
• Support the production of initial samples and prototypes
• Continues improvements of machining processes

Our Process Engineering department is searching for a Machining expert to develop new and improve existing manufacturing processes in order to achieve optimal efficiency, minimum lead time and zero defects

Responsibilities

• As part of a Process engineering team, plan, develop and implement manufacturing processes for new products.
• Optimize existing manufacturing processes and implement improvements in production.
