Job summary

Mercury is seeking an experienced ELV Package Manager for our Kristiansand project in Norway. You will lead the ELV Electrical Systems scope, coordinate with electrical and mechanical teams, and ensure delivery of the client’s objectives.

The role requires a trade background or relevant qualification, 5+ years' experience on large installations, strong safety knowledge, and the ability to travel as needed. You will drive schedule, QA, and cost control with the Mercury project team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience on large installation projects.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety.
  • Good technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Able to work to strict deadlines and within budget.

  • Willing to travel as required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the ELV Electrical Systems package.
  • Coordinate with mechanical/electrical contractors in ELV scopes.
  • Ensure compliance with Mercury policies and SOPs.
  • Lead site safety with Electrical PM and Safety Advisor.
  • Drive a safety, quality, and environmental culture.
  • Manage project schedule with stakeholders.
  • Oversee costs including sub-contractors, materials, and plant.
  • Attend site meetings and project reviews.
  • Close out final accounts, manuals, and handover items.
  • Maintain weekly cost and progress reports.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:
  • Management of the ELV Electrical Systems package.
  • Experience working with a Mechanical/Electrical contractor, experience with ELV systems to include security, mechanical systems.
  • Ensure compliance to all Mercury Policies and SOPs related to relevant works.
  • Management of Site Safety in conjunction with the Electrical project manager and the Mercury Safety Advisor. This will include the setup, management of and closing out of the safety file as part of the Managementteam.
  • Drive a focused Quality. Health, Safety and Environmental culture within your team.
  • Management of Site QA in conjunction with Mercury QA Manager including set up, management and close out of file
  • Management of Project Schedule in conjunction with Mercury Project manager, consulting Engineer and Client requirements
  • Management of all costs associated with your package including:
  • Mercury Electrical Team
  • Sub-contractors
  • Material deliveries and goods receipting.
  • Plant and Equipment
  • Variations (ensure compliance with contractual communication timelines)
  • Valuations
  • Management of all day-to-day site operations
  • Ensure Mercury Policies and procedures are followed closely
  • Management of sub-contractor activities including tracking progress against schedule and manpower levels. Ensure that there is a weekly meeting with sub-contractor.
  • Management of the Mercury In Progress snagging system ensuring that the supervisors return weekly punch lists where applicable. Ensure all snags are distributed to all Sub-contractors
  • Issue direct labour hours and sub-contractor hours to time administrator for tracking centrally where required.
  • Attendance at Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Co-ordination Meetings and Handover Meetings
  • Close out of all project items including Final Account, O & M Manuals, Punch List, Safety File, QA File, Material and Plant re-locations, Project Plan – all with the support of the site project manager and your project team.
  • Issue weekly cost reports. This will include all orders placed, materials expected, and labour levels.
  • Issue internal weekly progress report rolled up from project supervisors report. This will highlight progress percentage complete based on WBS codes and any concerns. It should also highlight any risk elements within the control of Mercury, e.g.: late deliveries.
  • Issue external weekly progress report, to the project manager, highlighting areas not available, delays, shortage of design, third party hold ups and percentage complete.
  • Schedule material deliveries to correspond with the project schedule. Track deliveries in particular.
  • Maintain a weekly project photographic diary
  • All other duties associated with the role.
  • A trade and/or relevant third level qualification or relevant work experience
  • A minimum of 5 years previous experience.
  • Flexible to travel

  • Proven record of coordinating and managing large installation projects
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety
  • Good technical knowledge of both Electrical and Mechanical systems
  • Ability to work well within strict deadlines
