Job summary

Mercury is seeking an Electrical Project Manager for Kristiansand, Norway. You will lead large electrical packages for complex installations, coordinating across engineering, procurement, and construction teams on site.

The role requires 5–10 years in Electrical Project Management, strong leadership, and experience with design–build projects and safety standards. You will manage resources, schedules, and client relationships to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience in Electrical Project Management.
  • Proven record coordinating large installation projects, especially data centre construction.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental management systems.
  • Experience in design and build construction.
  • Strong leadership and ability to manage a team.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and drive large-scale projects.

  • Establish performance and delivery criteria to meet client requirements.
  • Liaise with client to build trust for future project opportunities.
  • Develop and administer quality control provisions and cost estimation, value engineering.
  • Coordinate with client on KPI development and implementation.
  • Lead on-site safety initiatives and enforce safety leadership on site.
  • Manage resources, planning of labour, materials and sub-contractors, and ensure timely delivery of Electrical package drawings and manuals.
  • Oversee procurement, purchase orders and change orders in line with company policies.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Establish performance and delivery criteria, ensuring that client requirements are being met
  • Liaise with the client and establish a trusting relationship to ensure future project opportunities.
  • Develop and administer quality control provisions; liaise on project cost estimating and value engineering, as appropriate
  • Liaise with the client on KPI development and implementation.
  • Champion Mercury’s Safety implementation on site and at site Safety Leadership Teams
  • Champion Mercury’s Quality focus on site and implement ‘Right First Time’ measures.
  • Track and report at weekly client update meetings.
  • Liaise with the Commercial team to ensure contracts, purchase orders, payment certs and change orders are issued in accordance with company policies.
  • Management of Mercury team on site and coordination of Internal resources with regard to travel etc.
  • To manage and drive a large team to meet with all project requirements and deadlines
  • Planning of all resources including labour, materials and sub-contractors
  • Delivery of all Electrical Package as-built drawings and O&M Manuals within project timelines.
  • Ensure processing of requisitions, generation of purchase orders and delivery to site is done in a timely manner.
  • Develop a constructible and detailed schedule with the project planner.
  • Must have a detailed knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical systems and equipment including UPS, STS, EPMS, BMS, Generators, Busbar systems and PDU’s to name a few.
  • To understand the nature of working in a live environment and appreciate the importance of maintaining all client’s system during construction phases.
  • Take a lead role in managing hazardous energy during construction.
  • Liaise with the client regarding the permitting of all works within the live environment and participate in the development of RAMS and relevant client permits.
  • A strong understanding of the COHE policies and to liaise with various vendors and subcontractors in relation to LOTO of their equipment.
  • Ensure the adherence to safety and quality standards
  • All other duties associated with this role

Essential Criteria for the Role:

  • A trade and/or relevant third level qualification
  • 5 - 10 years previous experience in Electrical Project Management
  • Proven record of coordinating and managing large installation projects, particularly data centre construction
  • Knowledge of implementing Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental management systems
  • Experienced in design and build construction
  • Good technical knowledge of both Electrical and Mechanical systems and testing and commissioning of same
  • Excellent leadership skills and demonstratable experience of managing a team
  • Ability to work well within strict deadlines
  • Ability to drive a large-scale project
