Job summary

Hydro seeks a data governance professional to establish and implement the data governance framework, policies, and operating model across the organization.

You will define decision rights, data ownership, stewardship responsibilities, and accountability while promoting trusted data for analytics, AI, and emerging digital capabilities. Collaboration with business, IT, legal, compliance, and digital teams is essential.

Qualifications

• A relevant higher degree in related fields.
• Experience with data governance, data management, analytics, digital transformation, or management consulting.
• Experience across complex organizations is highly valued.
• Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata management, data platforms, and analytics.
• Experience supporting AI or advanced analytics initiatives is an advantage.
• Excellent English skills are required; Norwegian is an advantage.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement across business and technology functions.
• Structured, proactive, and comfortable driving initiatives across multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement Hydro's data governance framework, policies, and operating model.
• Define decision rights, data ownership, stewardship responsibilities, and accountability across the organization.
• Develop governance standards and processes ensuring data is accessible, secure, and high quality throughout its lifecycle.
• Support compliance with relevant regulations and internal requirements.
• Support Hydro's Data & Analytics strategy by enabling trusted data for analytics, AI, and emerging digital capabilities.
• Promote responsible AI practices and help drive business value through well-governed data.
• Facilitate the Data Governance Council.
• Collaborate with business, IT, legal, compliance, and digital teams.
• Promote governance best practices and strengthen data management capabilities across Hydro.
