Job summary

Hydro's GBS organization seeks a senior legal advisor to lead AI and data privacy matters, providing practical guidance, risk assessments, and governance support across the business.

You will collaborate with global stakeholders, translate regulatory developments into actionable actions, and drive privacy by design across projects while reporting to the Head of GBS Data Privacy.

Qualifications

• Law degree with strong academic credentials.
• Preferably 4–8 years of experience from a law firm, as in-house counsel, or similar.
• Expertise in data privacy, technology law, AI regulations, or related fields.
• Experience advising on AI, digital technologies, or innovation initiatives.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Strong integrity, sound judgment, and a pragmatic approach to complex challenges.
• Solution-oriented and collaborative approach.
• Ability to communicate effectively and build trusted relationships across the organization.
• CV, cover letter, and academic records required.

Job description

• Act as the primary legal advisor to Hydro's GBS organization on AI and data privacy matters
• Advise GBS and business stakeholders on AI and data privacy topics
• Support implementation and day-to-day operation of Hydro's AI and data privacy framework
• Provide practical legal guidance, risk assessments, and recommendations for compliant and responsible business practices
• Drive and support privacy and AI governance activities
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, controls, compliance activities, data mapping, and DPIAs and LIAs
• Embed privacy by design and responsible AI principles into projects, systems, and services
• Advise on complex, international, and cross-functional privacy and regulatory matters
• Deliver privacy and AI training and awareness initiatives
• Support incident and regulatory management
• Translate developments in privacy, AI, technology, and digital regulation into practical business actions
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Hydro's global organization and business areas
• Report to the Head of GBS Data Privacy as part of an international team
