Job summary

NSC Global is seeking a Data Centre Field Engineer to join our team in Stavanger. The role covers hands-on installation, maintenance, and support of data center hardware and connectivity, with emphasis on reliability and customer service.

You will work with network and server hardware, cabling, and out-of-band management tools, ensuring uptime and proper documentation. A valid driving licence and local language ability are required, along with English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Mandatory driving licence and local language at or above B2 level.
• Experience with Windows Server and Unix operating systems.
• Familiar with CLI commands and storage/backup procedures.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange, and network basics.

Responsibilities

• Network and server hardware and components.
• Copper and fibre cabling systems.
• Equipment racking and stacking (installation).
• Installation and removal of field replaceable units (e.g. hard drive, memory, line cards, transceivers).
• Network monitoring systems and usage.
• Device and database backup & restore processes.
• Troubleshooting and testing.
• Network connectivity.
• Out of band management tools such as iLO and Drac systems.
• Participate in the configuration and support of systems.
• Adherence to assigned schedule.
• Able to function in a team environment.
• Maintain knowledge levels as industry enhancements occur.

Responsibilities

Work Experience: More than 24 months

Sound knowledge of:

• Network and server hardware and components
• Copper and fibre cabling systems
• Equipment racking and stacking (installation)
• Installation and removal of field replaceable units (e.g. hard drive, memory, line cards, transceivers)
• Network monitoring systems and usage
• Device and database backup & restore processes
• Troubleshooting and testing
• Network connectivity
• Out of band management tools such as iLO and Drac systems
