Job summary

NSC Global is seeking a Data Centre Field Engineer in Norway to install, maintain and troubleshoot network and server hardware, cabling, and rack systems on-site. You will handle field replaceable units and participate in monitoring and testing activities.

Ideal candidates have Windows/Unix experience, AD and Exchange knowledge, backup procedures, and proficiency with iLO/DRAC for remote management. A driving licence and B2-level local language are required.

Qualifications

• Must have driving licence.
• Local language at least B2 level.
• Awareness of Windows Server and Unix operating systems.
• CLI commands and common software applications.
• IT qualifications may include Microsoft server certifications.

Responsibilities

• Install and service network and server hardware on site.
• Manage cabling, racking and securing equipment.
• Perform fault isolation and diagnostics.
• Assist in backup and restore procedures.
• Monitor networks and devices; coordinate with remote teams.
• Adhere to schedules and documented policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Work Experience: More than 24 months

Sound knowledge of:

• Network and server hardware and components
• Copper and fibre cabling systems
• Equipment racking and stacking (installation)
• Installation and removal of field replaceable units (e.g. hard drive, memory, line cards, transceivers)
• Network monitoring systems and usage
• Device and database backup & restore processes
• Troubleshooting and testing
• Network connectivity
• Out of band management tools such as iLO and Drac systems
