Job summary

Nsc Global is seeking an experienced Data Center Engineer to provide on-site technical support in a mission-critical data center environment in Norway. Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with enterprise rack, tower, cloud, and edge servers.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a data center environment.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Authorized to work in Norway.

Responsibilities

  • Perform corrective maintenance and break-fix support on enterprise server platforms.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware-related faults and infrastructure issues.
  • Install, replace, configure, and test server components and peripherals.
  • Execute maintenance activities in accordance with documented procedures and operational standards.
  • Respond to incidents, service requests, and troubleshooting requirements within agreed service levels.
  • Maintain accurate service records, technical documentation, and asset updates.
  • Collaborate with remote technical teams, operations teams, and escalation groups to resolve complex issues.
  • Support equipment moves, adds, changes, and decommissioning activities.
  • Ensure compliance with data center security, environmental, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain readiness to provide coverage and knowledge transfer to backfill resources when required.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Engineer to provide on-site technical support within a mission-critical data center environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for hardware maintenance, diagnostics, break-fix activities, equipment installation, and operational support for enterprise server infrastructure.

This role requires a hands-on engineer with strong server hardware expertise, the ability to work independently in a data center environment, and a commitment to adhering to safety, quality, and service delivery standards.

  • Perform corrective maintenance and break-fix support on enterprise server platforms.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware-related faults and infrastructure issues.

Qualifications

Required Technical Skills

Server Hardware Expertise

  • Strong experience supporting enterprise rack, tower, cloud, and edge server platforms.
  • Experience performing:
    • Hardware diagnostics
    • Component replacement
    • Firmware-related activities
    • Corrective maintenance
    • System recovery procedures

Data Center Experience

  • Working knowledge of:
    • Data center operations
    • Server installation and racking
    • Cabling best practices
    • Hardware asset management
    • Physical infrastructure support

Networking Knowledge

  • Fundamental understanding of:
    • Ethernet networking
    • Switch connectivity
    • Remote management technologies
    • Hardware troubleshooting methodologies

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Data Center Engineer, Hardware Support Engineer, or similar role.
  • Experience providing on-site support within enterprise or hyperscale data center environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Valid authorization to work in Norway.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting enterprise server platforms in large-scale data center environments.
  • Knowledge of edge, cloud, and high-performance computing infrastructure.
  • Previous experience supporting mission-critical environments.
  • Familiarity with remote management and out-of-band administration tools.
  • Experience working within ITIL-based service delivery models.
