Job summary

Maersk Customs Services in Norway seeks an experienced Customs Office Manager to lead the Front Office at Svinesund and oversee a Back Office in Halden. You will drive people, processes and performance across functions in a dynamic, international setting.

You will lead teams, ensure high service quality amid increasing digitalization and regulatory demands, and strengthen customer-centric operations across the Nordic region.

Qualifications

• Experience in leadership roles with personnel responsibility.
• Higher education in a relevant field; long/relevant experience may compensate.
• Experience within customs, logistics, transport or related business.
• Strong understanding of operational processes and ability to balance drift and development.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with improvement work and change management.
• Good business sense and ability to translate strategy into results.
• Proficiency in Norwegian or Swedish, plus English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and further develop Front Office on Svinesund, with staff development and operation excellence.
• Own personnel, results and development for a Back Office customs unit, including process improvement.
• Ensure strong collaboration between Front Office and Back Office for efficient customs processes.
• Drive continuous improvement focused on quality, productivity and customer satisfaction.
• Track results with clear goals, priorities and performance management.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, engagement and learning.
• Ensure compliance with customs rules, internal guidelines and quality standards.
• Contribute to organizational development alongside other leaders.
