Job summary

Menzies Aviation in Oslo is seeking a Cargo Agent to safely and efficiently handle cargo and mail in the freight terminal and aircraft side.

You will inspect, load, and secure pallets, comply with IATA regulations and company standards, and work with others to maintain high safety and security levels. Fluent Norwegian and English are required, with a valid forklift license and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and dispatch cargo and mail, with weight/volume checks.
• Load/unload cargo in freight terminal and aircraft side, secure pallets/containers.
• Handle Dangerous Goods in accordance with IATA and airline rules.
• Verify cargo/mail is sorted and allocated to correct carrier/destination.
• Ensure daily inspection of vehicles/equipment per SOPs.

Role Purpose

The Cargo Agent is responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality handling of cargo and mail within the freight area, in accordance with applicable procedures, regulations, and company standards. The role involves operational participation in various phases of the cargo flow, both indoors and outdoors, and contributes to the company's requirements for Security, Safety, Quality and Environmental Sustainability Compliance.

What you will be doing

• Receive, inspect, and dispatch cargo and mail,performing weight and volume checks as required.
  
• Load and unload cargo and mail in the freight terminal and at the aircraft side.Build, load, and secure pallets and containers according to airline standards.
  
• Safely receive, handle, and load Dangerous Goods in strict compliance with IATA regulations and airline-specific requirements.
• Verify and ensure cargo/mail is accurately sorted and allocated to the correct carrier and destination flight.
• Ensure correct use and daily inspection of vehicles and equipment according to standard operating procedures.
