Job summary

Menzies Aviation in Norway is seeking a Cargo Agent to ensure safe, efficient handling of cargo and mail within the freight area, in line with procedures, regulations and company standards. The role involves both indoor and outdoor work and contributes to safety, security, quality and environmental compliance.

Primary duties include receiving, inspecting, and dispatching cargo, loading and securing pallets, handling dangerous goods per IATA rules, and ensuring correct sorting and allocation to

• Proficiency in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Valid forklift license.
• Good teamwork and a high sense of responsibility.
• Able to work indoors and outdoors in a freight environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and dispatch cargo and mail, performing weight and volume checks as required.
• Load and unload cargo and mail in the freight terminal and at the aircraft side; build, load, and secure pallets and containers.
• Safely receive, handle, and load Dangerous Goods in line with IATA regulations and airline requirements.
• Verify and ensure cargo/mail is correctly sorted and allocated to the correct carrier and destination flight.
• Ensure daily inspection and correct use of vehicles and equipment according to procedures.

Role Purpose

The Cargo Agent is responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality handling of cargo and mail within the freight area, in accordance with applicable procedures, regulations, and company standards. The role involves operational participation in various phases of the cargo flow, both indoors and outdoors, and contributes to the company's requirements for Security, Safety, Quality and Environmental Sustainability Compliance.

What you will be doing

• Receive, inspect, and dispatch cargo and mail,performing weight and volume checks as required.
  
• Load and unload cargo and mail in the freight terminal and at the aircraft side.Build, load, and secure pallets and containers according to airline standards.
  
• Safely receive, handle, and load Dangerous Goods in strict compliance with IATA regulations and airline-specific requirements.
• Verify and ensure cargo/mail is accurately sorted and allocated to the correct carrier and destination flight.
• Ensure correct use and daily inspection of vehicles and equipment according to standard operating procedures.
