Job summary

Yara is seeking an Associate Product Manager to join the Reliability & Production Optimization unit, collaborating with production sites on digital product development and rollout. The role focuses on understanding user needs, prioritizing work, and turning requirements into actionable user stories.

Based in Oslo or Porsgrunn, this position supports adoption of the Yara Digital Production Platform, driving measurable value across sites through cross-functional teamwork and agile practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, such as process, chemical, or automation engineering, or in another relevant field.
• Experience with, or exposure to, digital product development, industrial technology, production optimization, or operational improvement.
• Experience working in, or a good understanding of, agile and cross-functional product teams.
• A curious, collaborative, and pragmatic mindset, with the ability to learn quickly.
• Strong interest in understanding user needs and applying technology and data to solve real operational problems.
• Ability to communicate clearly, constructively challenge assumptions, and collaborate with stakeholders across disciplines, sites, and cultures.

Responsibilities

• Engage with production sites, engineers, and other stakeholders through interviews, workshops, and product discovery activities.
• Build awareness, understanding, and stakeholder commitment to the products and the value they create.
• Support the rollout and adoption of digital applications at production sites by ensuring access, training users, building understanding, and embedding the applications in daily work.
• Work closely with the Product Manager to understand user needs, define priorities, and support product discovery, planning, delivery, and continuous improvement.
• Translate user and business needs into clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Establish business cases, monitor whether the products are adopted and used, and conduct post-implementation reviews to assess realized value.
