Job summary

EGON Brygga in Tromsø seeks an Assistant Kitchen Manager to join the leadership team from day one. You work closely with the Kitchen Manager and General Manager, overseeing daily kitchen operations, quality, structure and team development.

The role blends hands-on cooking with leadership, planning and follow-up, with a clear path toward Kitchen Manager within EGON for the right candidate. English communication is required.

Qualifications

• Experience from a professional kitchen with high-volume operations.
• Previous leadership experience or strong motivation to develop into a leadership role.
• Good organizational and communication skills and a hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Support the Kitchen Manager in the daily operation of the kitchen.
• Take responsibility for kitchen operations when the Kitchen Manager is absent.
• Ensure consistently high food quality and presentation.
• Participate actively in food preparation and à la carte service.
• Follow up routines related to HACCP / food safety and hygiene.
• Help train, motivate and develop kitchen employees.
• Contribute to efficient staffing, planning and organization.
• Follow EGON’s routines, systems and operational standards.
• Help create a positive, structured and professional working environment.
• Contribute to building a strong kitchen team at the new restaurant.
