Job summary

EGON Brygga in Tromsø opens a brand-new restaurant where you will join the leadership team as Assistant Kitchen Manager. You will be the Kitchen Manager’s right hand, combining hands-on kitchen work with leadership, planning and follow-up to establish routines and standards from day one.

This role offers a path toward becoming Kitchen Manager within EGON, with a focus on building a strong kitchen team and delivering high-quality food in a busy, dynamic setting.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience from a professional kitchen.
• Experience from high-volume restaurants or similar operations.
• Previous leadership experience, or a strong motivation to develop into a leadership role.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Hands-on approach and willingness to lead by example.
• The ability to remain structured and focused during busy services.
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• A genuine interest in food, people and restaurant operations.
• Good communication skills in English. Speaking Norwegian is a big plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the Kitchen Manager in the daily operation of the kitchen
• Take responsibility for kitchen operations when the Kitchen Manager is absent
• Ensure consistently high food quality and presentation
• Follow up routines related to HACCP / food safety and hygiene
• Help train, motivate and develop kitchen employees
• Contribute to efficient staffing, planning and organization
• Follow EGON’s routines, systems and operational standards
• Help create a positive, structured and professional working environment
• Contribute to building a strong kitchen team at the new restaurant
