Job summary
Lace Lithography in Bergen, Norway, seeks a seasoned AMO Experimental Physicist/Engineer to advance beam conditioning systems and transition R&D concepts into robust products.
Ideal candidates hold a PhD or MSc with AMO focus and have hands-on laser cooling, vacuum and atom optics experience, plus data analysis skills (Python/MATLAB/LabVIEW). The role includes relocation support and close collaboration with our global team.
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics or related AMO field, or MSc with 5 years AMO experience.
- Strong laser cooling and atom optics expertise.
- Hands-on ability to align complex optical systems and vacuum work.
- Experience with data analysis tools (Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW).
- Experience in lithography industry.
- Experience with cooling He, Xe, or Ne.
- Familiar with Julia and Zemax.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize beam conditioning and AMO setups.
- Improve beam conditioning modules for flux, control, and stability.
- Develop diagnostics: spectroscopy, beam profilers.
- Collaborate with optomechanical and CAD engineers.
- Provide technical training and support deployments.
- Contribute to design reviews with calculations and references.
