Job summary
Lace Lithography in Bergen, Norway, seeks an experienced AMO Experimental Physicist/Engineer (Junior to Senior) to join our AMO team. You will contribute to development and optimization of beam conditioning systems, collaborating with physicists, chemists and developers to translate high-level R&D into robust product architectures.
This role requires a strong mix of theoretical understanding and hands-on experimental skill in laser cooling and atomic physics, with responsibilities spanning
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics / AMO exposure or a Masters with AMO experience.
- Proven experience with laser cooling and atom optics.
- Hands-on skills aligning complex optical systems and vacuum knowledge.
- Strong analytical ability for feasibility studies and modeling.
- Experience with Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW for data analysis.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize experimental setups for laser cooling and atomic beams.
- Improve beam conditioning modules for flux, control, and long-term stability.
- Develop diagnostics like spectroscopy and beam profilers.
- Collaborate with optomechanical and CAD engineers to improve atomic physics systems.
- Support deployment of Lace systems and train new AMO squad members.
- Contribute to technical documents and design reviews with calculations and references.
