Job summary

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Sales/Key Account management, preferably in shipping/maritime industry.
  • Good basic IT skills and familiarity with CRM systems.
  • Willingness to travel approximately one week per month and build strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Build and grow strong, long-term relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities by understanding client needs and market developments.
  • Develop and execute account and sales plans with internal teams to close opportunities.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to deliver value and negotiate deals.
  • Travel to visit customers regularly and ensure follow-up on orders and contracts.

Are you motivated by building strong customer relationships and finding solutions that create value? MacGregor is looking for an Account Manager to join our team in Bergen although would consider candidates to work from our Arendal or Kristiansand office. As an Account Manager, you will be a trusted partner to our customers, working to understand their businesses, challenges and future needs. You will identify opportunities where MacGregor's products, services and expertise can provide genuine value, and work collaboratively with customers and internal teams to develop solutions that benefit both the customer and MacGregor. This is a consultative sales role where success is built on strong relationships, commercial understanding and the ability to connect customer needs with the right solutions. You will manage and develop existing customer relationships while also identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within your assigned market. You will be responsible for promoting and selling spare parts, services and projects, from identifying an opportunity through to developing the solution and negotiating the sale. You will work closely with customers to understand their priorities and with our internal sales, service and technical teams to ensure we deliver the right solution at the right time.

More tasks and responsibilities
  • Build and develop strong, long-term relationships with existing and prospective customers, acting as a trusted advisor and understanding their business, needs and priorities
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities by understanding customer challenges, market trends and developments, and connecting these to MacGregor's products, services and solutions
  • Develop and execute account and sales plans in collaboration with your manager and internal sales and support teams
  • Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to develop commercially attractive, mutually beneficial solutions and negotiate opportunities through to successful completion
  • Maintain a strong understanding of customers, markets and competitors, sharing relevant insights to support sales, retention and commercial strategies
  • Ensure effective follow-up of customer orders, deliveries and contracts, proactively addressing issues and involving the relevant internal teams when required
  • Regular travel to visit existing and prospective customers is an essential part of the role.

Reporting directly to the Sales Director. The position will be based in MacGregor's office in Bergen, Arendal or Kristiansand Norway.

What you’ll need to succeed

The ideal candidate is a proactive sales professional and possess technical or business background. As a strategic thinker, you are adept at developing market-specific budgets and using market intelligence to drive growth and retention. You are a disciplined communicator who excels at managing customer relationships and is comfortable traveling approximately one week per month to engage with clients. Ultimately, you are a self-starter who can bridge the gap between technical requirements and commercial success to consistently meet and exceed sales targets. Ideally you have
