Job description

Have you ever dreamt of engineering luxury interiors for some of the world’s most exceptional superyachts?

Your opportunity

As a Yacht Interior Engineer, you will translate interior concepts and technical information into accurate, practical drawings that can be used directly by production.

You will develop the technical framework and spatial provisions required for the complete interior of a yacht. This includes ensuring that furniture, ceilings, flooring and other interior elements fit correctly alongside the hull structure, insulation, electrical installations and mechanical systems.

You may also work on exterior elements such as outdoor furniture, teak decks and exterior ceilings.

This is a hands-on engineering and drafting position rather than an interior styling role. You will work closely with Project Leaders, Work Planners, other engineering disciplines and production colleagues to produce clear and buildable solutions.

Using AutoCAD and Rhino alongside 3D platforms such as TopSolid’Wood and CATIA, you will develop coordinated engineering drawings while considering materials, installation requirements, inspection standards and production planning. Because the yachts are built at the shipyard next to the engineering office, you will remain closely connected to production and see how your drawings translate into the finished yacht.

What you will do
  • Develop technical and spatial provisions for complete yacht interiors
  • Produce accurate 2D drawings and detailed 3D engineering models
  • Translate interior concepts and project information into production-ready working drawings
  • Engineer interior and selected exterior elements, including furniture, ceilings and teak decks
  • Coordinate interfaces between the interior, hull structure, insulation, electrical installations and mechanical systems
  • Process technical input provided by Project Leaders, Work Planners, suppliers and other engineering disciplines
  • Ensure that drawings account for installation sequence, accessibility, tolerances and production requirements
  • Select and apply appropriate materials and construction methods
  • Identify spatial conflicts and contribute to practical, buildable solutions
  • Maintain accurate drawing revisions and technical documentation
  • Ensure that engineering output complies with project specifications, inspection requirements and internal quality standards
  • Support production colleagues when technical questions arise during construction
  • Remain involved throughout the process, from engineering and drawing development through construction and handover
Where you will work

Would you like to develop interiors for some of the world’s most advanced luxury yachts?

You will join an experienced Interior Engineering team at an integrated yachtbuilding facility in the Netherlands. The department is responsible for the technical development of the complete yacht interior and works closely with Shipbuilding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and the production organisation.

  • High-end custom and semi-custom yacht projects
  • Complete interior engineering rather than one isolated yacht section
  • Close cooperation between engineering and production
  • Direct access to the shipyard and yachts under construction
  • A practical, quality-focused and collaborative working environment
  • An open and informal culture with direct communication
  • Involvement from initial drawings through construction and final handover
What you already have
  • At least one year of professional or internship experience in the Netherlands, providing familiarity with Dutch workplace culture, direct communication and collaborative ways of working
  • A recognised vocational, technical or university qualification in technical product design, interior construction, furniture or joinery engineering, wood technology, or another relevant technical discipline. Equivalent international qualifications and practical training are equally welcome
  • Relevant experience in interior construction, furniture engineering, joinery, yacht interiors or technical drafting
  • Good knowledge of AutoCAD and Rhino; experience with TopSolid’Wood and CATIA; experience with Siemens NX is considered a strong alternative
  • A sound understanding of materials, manufacturing methods and technical detailing
  • The ability to read and develop clear, accurate production drawings
  • An integrated view of how interior engineering interfaces with structure, insulation, electrical and mechanical systems
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, good communication skills and a collaborative attitude
  • Dutch language skills are a significant advantage, but not mandatory
  • More time to enjoy life: 40 paid holidays every year.
  • Extra support for sustainable living: Sustainable Life & Work Bonus.
  • Business travel covered: Insurance included whenever you travel for work.
  • We pay the journey: Interview and commuting costs are reimbursed.
  • Expand your network: Meet professionals from across the Dutch maritime industry at exclusive events.
  • Moving within or back to the Netherlands? We can support you with housing and registration where required.
