Job summary

Middle Point is seeking an organized Project Engineer / Work Preparator to join our Mechanical Engineering team, central to realising exclusive superyachts. You will coordinate technical preparation, manage engineering data, and ensure production receives complete documentation for a smooth build.

The role requires 7+ years in yacht project engineering, proficiency with CATIA/3DX/NX, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in project engineering, work preparation, or mechanical engineering within yacht building.
  • Experience coordinating engineering activities and preparing technical documentation for production.
  • Knowledge of CATIA, 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX), or Siemens NX; ERP systems and AutoCAD/3D CAD is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a structured, proactive approach.
  • Good command of English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Leader in technical preparation and execution of mechanical engineering projects.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain technical documentation and engineering information.
  • Maintain material data and engineering information within the ERP system.
  • Prepare complete and accurate engineering documentation for production.
  • Support Engineers with mechanical engineering-related technical questions throughout the project.
  • Coordinate engineering activities between Mechanical Engineering, Production, and other departments to ensure efficient execution.
  • Monitor timely completion of engineering preparations to keep production on schedule.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Contribute to a safe, organized, and continuously improving engineering environment.

Are you an organized and proactive Project Engineer with a passion for mechanical engineering and luxury yacht building? Do you enjoy coordinating technical information, supporting engineering teams, and ensuring projects are fully prepared for production?

Tasks

Join our client's Mechanical Engineering team and play an important role in the realization of some of the world's most exclusive superyachts. As a Project Engineer / Work Preparator, you will support Project Leaders and Engineers by coordinating technical preparations, managing engineering data, and ensuring production receives accurate and complete documentation for a smooth build process.

  • Support the Project Leader in the technical preparation and execution of mechanical engineering projects.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain technical documentation and engineering information.

Job requirements
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the European Union.
  • Bachelor's degree (BSc/HBO) in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in project engineering, work preparation, or mechanical engineering within the yacht building industry (mandatory).
  • Experience coordinating engineering activities and preparing technical documentation for production.
  • Knowledge of CATIA, 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX), or Siemens NX is strongly preferred; experience with ERP systems and AutoCAD or other 3D CAD software is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a structured and proactive approach to work.
  • Good command of English, both spoken and written.
Conditions
  • Gross annual salary between € 55.000,- and € 65.000,- depending on experience.
  • Assistance with relocation, visa applications, housing advice, and general support.
  • Eligibility for the Dutch 30% ruling for qualifying expats.
  • 27 days of paid holidays, + 13 extra paid ADV days and paid national holidays
  • Compensation for commuting costs depending on your preferred means of transportation - own car / public transport / bike
