Job summary

Picnic seeks a backend software engineer for our Warehouse Systems domain in Amsterdam. You will design, develop, and test features that power our warehouse platform, handling inbound items, totes by conveyors, and delivery handoffs to drivers.

We value product mindset and collaboration; 1–5 years of experience in Java/Spring, PostgreSQL and RabbitMQ, plus strong English skills. Office presence in Amsterdam with flexible remote options when needed.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• You own and solve business problems through tech.
• 1-5 years of professional programming and software development experience.
• Strong backend development knowledge with Java, Spring, PostgreSQL and RabbitMQ.
• English proficiency; Dutch not required.
• Based in the Netherlands or willing to relocate; Amsterdam office with limited remote options.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test new features for the warehouse platform.
• Improve scalability and security of the warehouse systems.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables in a scaleup environment.
