Picnic seeks a Software Engineer (Java) to join our Warehouse Systems team in Amsterdam. You’ll design, develop, and test backend services powering inbound, conveyor, and delivery workflows, using Java 21/Spring Boot, Kafka, PostgreSQL, AWS, and Docker.

You’ll own projects end‑to‑end, collaborate across teams, and help scale our warehouse platform. 2–5 years Java experience, a Master’s in CS/IT/CE, fluent English, and willingness to relocate to the Netherlands.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in CS/AI/IT/CE or related field.
• 2–5 years of professional Java backend experience.
• Product mindset and ability to own business problems.
• Experience with AI tooling and agentic engineering.
• Based in the Netherlands or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Own projects from concept to delivery and align with business goals.
• Design, develop, test, and scale backend services for warehouse workflows.
• Collaborate across cross‑team initiatives for complex systems.
• Ensure performance, scalability, and security of the platform.
