Job summary

Picnic Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer (with Java) for Warehouse Automation in Amsterdam. You will build backend systems to power our warehouse operations, collaborating across teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions.

A Master’s degree or equivalent experience, 2–5 years of Java experience, and fluent English are expected. Some onsite presence in the Netherlands is required with flexibility for remote work not being the default.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in a technical field.
• 2-5 years of professional Java experience and backend development expertise.
• Strong English communication skills; Dutch not required.
• Experience with AI tooling and agentic engineering.
• Willing to relocate to or be based in the Netherlands; Amsterdam office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own projects from concept to delivery and align solutions with business goals.
• Design, develop and test features in Java backend for warehouse automation.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure smooth workflows in our warehouses.
