Job summary

7people is supporting an international media and technology client in Amsterdam to recruit an Interim VP HR. The role is to keep all key people processes running, represent People on the new leadership team, and hand over to a permanent VP HR once found.

Start is immediate and the assignment is 4-6 months, with hybrid work in the Amsterdam area and occasional international travel. The ideal candidate has corporate HR leadership experience in a matrix structure, with knowledge of Dutch labour law

Qualifications

• Corporate governance and HR leadership experience in a matrix structure.
• Experience in media and/or engineering sectors is valued.
• International, multi-site HR leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of Dutch labour law (NL-based).

Responsibilities

• Maintain key people processes and HR operations during transition.
• Represent People on the newly forming leadership team.
• Coordinate with CEO and group CHRO; ensure smooth handover when VP HR is appointed.
• Navigate stakeholder complexity across multiple sites.

Our client is an international media and technology company, recently restructured and now relaunching its culture and organizational dynamic. The current VP HR is departing. This is a bridge role: keep all key people processes running, represent People on the newly forming leadership team, and hand over cleanly once a permanent VP HR is appointed — that search is already underway. In times of change, your leadership will bring clarity and structure.

You’ll report into the CEO. There is also a matrix reporting-line into the Group CHRO of the international parent company.

The team

HR team: 20+ FTE - across all HR disciplines, including HRBP’s, Rewards, HR Ops, Talent Development & TA, Internal Comms

Supporting 600+ employees across a number of continents and countries (including NL, FR, US/CA and India)

The assignment

Start: Immediate

Duration: Interim, expected 4-6 months

Location: Amsterdam area

Days per week: 4-5 days/week - hybrid (not remote)

Travel: Occasional international travel

Who we're looking for

• Corporate background; comfortable operating with corporate/group stakeholders in a matrix structure

• Experience in media and/or engineering sectors is considered a plus

• International, multi-site HR leadership experience

• Solid knowledge of Dutch labour law (you’re based in NL and have worked here before in a HR leadership role)

• Experience working with a Dutch Works Council (OR)

• Enjoys stakeholder complexity
