UX/UI Designer – Maternity Cover

Lepaya, Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands.

Leoya is looking for an exceptional UX/UI Designer for a 10‑month maternity cover. This temporary role is open to freelancers and contract workers and will focus on the Lepaya Client Portal. You will immediately take ownership of the design strategy and execution within a dedicated product squad.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the design strategy and execution from discovery to hand‑off for the Client Portal.
• Embed with a Product Manager and Engineers, driving a Lean UX approach.
• Conduct user research, journey mapping, interaction design, usability testing, and design system maintenance.
• Translate research findings into actionable design decisions and collaborate closely with engineering to implement them.
• Manage multiple high‑priority projects, maintaining clear communication of timelines and dependencies.

What You’ll Bring

• 4+ years of UX design experience, capable of designing across the product lifecycle.
• Confidence working from discovery and ideation through prototyping, delivery, and iteration.
• Ability to balance business objectives, user needs, and technological constraints.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills; maintaining clarity in project communication.
• Hands‑on expertise in user research, journey mapping, interaction design, usability testing, and behavior‑driven design.
• Mastery of Figma, prototyping tools, user research tools, and tools that accelerate testing or hypothesis validation.
• A strong sense of visual design, layout, and typography, with a portfolio demonstrating effective web‑app and enterprise interfaces.
• Experience establishing or evolving design systems and component libraries for scale and consistency.

Nice to Have

• Experience prototyping and testing user interfaces and flows using AI tools like Lovable or Figma Make.
• Data‑driven mindset and keen on recommending conclusions from quantitative insights (e.g., Amplitude, Google Analytics).
• Strong understanding of UX copywriting principles to guide users intuitively through digital experiences.
