Job summary

Redpath is seeking an experienced Mechanic for an underground mine project on the east coast of Labrador, operating on a 14 days on/14 days off rotation with 12-hour shifts. The role focuses on preventive maintenance and repairs for diesel, electrical, hydraulic, and air-operated equipment, including mobile gear, generators, and drills.

The ideal candidate will be a journeyperson or have at least 3 years of mining or similar industry experience, with strong diagnostic and mechanical skills, and

Qualifications

• Journeyperson status or 3+ years as a mechanic in mining, construction, or similar.
• Basic literacy and ability to read blueprints are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing to identify problems and determine solutions.
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts or systems.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
• Identify unsafe conditions in underground headings and act accordingly.
• Train and mentor new employees and apprentices.
• Comply with safety regulations and procedures.
