Job summary

Skretting, a Nutreco company, seeks an Electrician (Red Seal Industrial) for our St. Andrews, NB facility.

This full-time role covers maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of electrical systems, with 12-hour shifts (4 per week) and collaborative, safety-focused operations. Ideal candidates hold Red Seal Industrial Electrician certification, have 2+ years in manufacturing, and can read schematics, service motors/PLCs, sensors and drives while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Industrial Electrician certification is required.
• Minimum two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in industrial settings.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Experience working with motors, controls, PLCs, sensors, drives, conveyors, and automated equipment.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices, equipment reliability, and safe work procedures.
• Ability to diagnose electrical faults quickly and complete repairs to minimize downtime.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, lockout/tagout procedures, and workplace health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment following schedules.
• Troubleshoot and repair defects or malfunctions, including emergencies.
• Execute planned maintenance tasks, occasionally supervising third-party technicians.
• Order spare parts and materials as needed.
• Implement modifications and technical improvements.
• Collaborate with management on quality and technical issues.
• Log maintenance activities in CMMS for records and history.
