Medtronic in Europe is seeking a Training & Education Manager to drive robotics training across sales, clinical and support teams, delivering programs for new hires and ongoing development. The role reports to Western European Surgical Sales Training and requires up to 50% travel, with hands-on sessions at the IRCAD training center in Strasbourg.

The successful candidate will design, deploy and evaluate training content, partner with regional stakeholders, and help build leadership and coaching

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in medical device sales/marketing, clinical, training, or related areas.
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent communication and teamwork.
  • Operating Room knowledge; robotic experience preferred.
  • Experience navigating a global matrix organization and leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Fluent English; other European languages desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Identify training needs across regional stakeholders.
  • Design and develop training courses aligned with goals; balance standardization and customization.
  • Deliver clinical and technical content using blended, synchronous and asynchronous methods.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness via evaluations, surveys and feedback.

A Day in the Life

The Training & Education Manager will have a significant impact on the success of Robotics’ growth of the business across by executing technical, clinical and skill training focused on sales, system implementation and customer support. This position reports into Western European Surgical Sales Training. This is a strategic and executional role supporting critical commercial team operations across the region.

Offering an exceptional opportunity to build on clinical or sales experience and develop the skills for upward or lateral roles. The successful individual will design and deploy training programs for new employees and that support Robotics business initiatives. They will also partner with local field management to support ongoing sales team development.

The work location within Europe is flexible but candidates must be prepared to travel up to 50% across the region. Significant time will be spent delivering hands-on training delivered at the IRCAD training center located in Strasbourg, France. Occasional international travel will be required.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
  • Identifytraining needs: Drive the collaboration of the different regional stakeholders toidentifyskill or knowledge gaps based on roles and responsibilities.

  • Training development: Partner with Global and Regional departments to design and develop training courses that align with organizational goals andobjectivesand whenrequired/ or needed the principle of 80% standardization 20% customization will be implemented.

  • Training delivery: Deliver clinical and technical content effectively using digital resources and methods such as Blended, Synchronous and Asynchronous learning.

  • Training evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of the training by contacting evaluations, surveys and feedback andcreatemechanisms to measure learning outcomes.

  • Team collaboration: Foster cross departmental training collaboration that promotes a culture of learning that enhances communication efficiency and continuous improvement

Required Knowledge and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degreewithsuccessful5 years combined experience in two or more of thefollowing functions: medical device sales or marketing, clinical experience (nursing etc.), training delivery, or other relevant areas, with a strongtrack recordand demonstration of individual and team results

  • Strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills,a genuineenthusiasm for training anddevelopmentand a commitment to teamwork arerequired.

  • In-depth knowledge of successful field sales and support organization structure, processes, and culture

  • Operating Room knowledge, ideally with Robotic experience

  • Excellent influencing, interpersonal, communication, presentation and facilitation skills withdemonstratedleadership and coaching capabilities.

  • Experience in multicultural organizations, particularly differentlearningand thinking styles.

  • Proventrack recordof ability to navigate and collaborate within a global matrix organization.

  • Proventrack recordof both individual and team achievement with a natural drive for results.

  • Experience with project management/project leadership, excellent planning and organizational skills coupled withdemonstratedability to manage multiple, complex projects concurrently.

  • Excellent spoken and written English isrequired. European language capability is desired.
